Police on Sunday arrested two men in their early 20s on charges of manslaughter and breaking and entering in Fukushiyama city, Kyoto.
According to police, the two men allegedly entered a man’s house through the bathroom window. The tenant discovered the intruders and pursued them out of the house and into the street. The two men then allegedly struck their pursuer as they attempted to flee in an automobile.
Police said the victim clung to the fleeing car's hood for nearly 170 meters before he was flung off. the suspects were able to fling him off. The man was dead on arrival at hospital.
According to police, the suspects claim they entered the man’s apartment mistakenly. “We thought it was our friend’s house. When this guy we didn’t know started chasing us, we panicked,” one of the men was quoted as saying.

Worst excuse, ever. Surely even the keystones won't buy this.

The suspects claim they mistakenly entered the wrong house because they were drunk at the time.

How did the victim get to the hospital?

goddog "How did the victim get to the hospital?"
After 170 meters he was FLUNG (or fling-ed) off the car and must have landed in front of a hospital.

If the country had 2nd amendment, the 2 crooks would be dead and the guy would have lived to tell the story.

If Japan had (your interpretation) of the 2nd Amendment, its murder rate would be much, much higher. Japan is very lucky to have few guns and the safety and security that comes with limited access to these weapons.

Its hard to tell who is dumber in this case. I might chase people out of my house but I would not dream of climbing on their car!

I can just imagine these two idiots in the lock-up know, "Hey, do you really know anyone at all that lives in that street?". The most pathetic excuse ever.

Ya know, the funny thing about this is, that they'll now serve time in jail for a crime much more serious then the one they were committing. And yet the time they serve for it, is going to about equal what they would have gotten for the other, had they committed that crime elsewhere, and not killed the guy. Basically, they're likely to do 3 to 5, about what they'd have gotten for a B&E in the states.
