Police in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, have arrested two men for allegedly sprinkling cars with a chemical at a Toyota used car dealership.
According to police, 42-year-old Kiyotaka Kaneko and an accomplice sprinkled a liquid chemical on 16 cars at a Toyota dealer in Fujisawa, damaging paintwork, earlier this month, Fuji TV reported. The incident is believed to have been a revenge attack in response to a disagreement over a car repair that was carried out by the dealer.
Police say they are investigating the possibility that the men are also responsible for a spate of similar incidents that took place at other Toyota dealerships, including one in Yokohama.

What a mischievous 42 year old "kid" (and his accomplice). Very vexatious.

Who says the Japanese population is growing old ? It's just a bunch of spoiled ageing brats with no backbone.

Best thing to use in revenge attacks like this is brake fluid.
Or so I've been told.

You know, it'd be pretty easy to do something like this and NOT get caught.
Especially in Japan, when the cops rarely arrest people due to investigative work.
These clowns must have made it pretty obvious who they were.

Brake fluid is really hard to repair as it conditions the metal and subsequent resprays need a ton of prep work. Or so I've been told.

Smart guy. The money he was probably fighting over for the car repairs will be nothing compared to the millions of yen he will owe Toyota for this.

Such a fool! I wonder how much money they'll be paying for all the damages.

Somebody else p:ssed off at the lack of consumer advocacy/legislation in Japan.

After the final bill, I'd say that will be an expensive repair bill. I hope it was worth it...sigh...

If it was paint remover ( Methylene chloride, or dichloromethane) and they damaged a fairly large area on each car, you can kiss the cars good bye.
The work to repair would not be economical on most used cars in Japan even on something as valuable as a Lexus.
If it was sprinkled as the article suggests they are still up for a decent bill.
I wonder if they will have to pay full compensation?

16 cars with paint remover... 2.5millon yen

Sounds like they do these actions in m other places. Are they working for a competitor of this dealer?
