Police in Tokyo have arrested two men on suspicion of breaking into the home of an 85-year-old man in June, tying him up and stealing his cell phone.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 10 a.m. on June 7 at the man’s house in Shinagawa Ward, Fuji TV reported. The suspects were identified as Takaaki Kimura, 36, and Hideyuki Yarita, 47, a member of the crime syndicate Yamaguchi-gumi.

The victim was quoted by police as saying he heard the doorbell ring and when he opened the floor, he was punched in the stomach and then tied up.

He also said no money or other valuables were taken from the house.

Kimura emerged as a possible suspect when surveillance footage of a car traveling near the crime scene was spotted before and after the robbery took place. According to police reports, the suspects have denied the charges following their arrest.

Police are questioning the two on why they broke into the house and what they were looking for.

I think they broke into the wrong house and when they realized it was the wrong house to try and mislead the police they just took the mans phone as it were a robbery.
