The fakes value just jumped, I’d guess.

Won't be long til a 3d printer is able to produce a fake good enough to fool the experts.

Licensed and unlicensed the same.

So what, just money grab from families doing nothing.

They probably are Korean or Chinese nationals who changed their name. Cant rust frauds!

Why refunding if the buyers are not returning the copies? Just pay the licensing fee/fine to the owners of the copyrights!

I have seen prints online of my own works.

Love the paintings by Higashiyama Kai and studied his work extensively when we lived in Nagano. There’s a very big Higashiyama museum in Nagano City. Well worth a visit.

Not commenting on his technical ability but the style is a bit well… kitsch. Thomas Kincaid with some self-discipline.

Higashiyama is anything but kitsch and can not be compared to the likes of Thomas Kincaid. I sat on the alpine mountains painting trying to understand the same paintings by Higashiyama Kaii. After several years I was able to see and experience what he had.

Higashiyama for a Nighonga paint has a very wide style.

I also like the works of Ikuo Hirayama.

That’s disappointing for you @zichi 4:47pm Did the authorities pursue & prosecute your case with the same fervor as this one?
