Police in Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture, have arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed two sisters in a taxi early Sunday morning.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 1:40 a.m. Local media quoted police as saying the suspect, Katsuya Kanetsugu, followed the taxi in his car and when it stopped in front of the women’s residence, he rammed it. Kanetsugu then stabbed the two women as they were about to get out of the vehicle. After that, he got back into his car and drove off.

Police said Kanetsugu, a company employee, was arrested at around 8 a.m.

The two women suffered stomach wounds and were taken to hospital where doctors said their condition was stable.

Police said Kanetsugu has known the sisters, one in her late 20s and the other in her early 30s, for about a year and that there had been some trouble between them, but did not elaborate.

Update: the guy was arrested, but for whatever reason news said just “29 years old guy”. He also crashed his car into the taxi. I put my money on the “former bf” disease

1:40 a.m.

Says a lot

Yeah. It says what time it happened, and that there's nothing unusual about coming home in a taxi from a Saturday night out, at that time.

Ménage à trois gone wrong?

He must ‘have’ been drink driving.

Fortunate that the blade he used was the only weapon he could get his hands on. The victims being in a stable condition do not mean they will survive and recover completely for sure, but it is much better than what would have happened if the criminal was armed with a gun.

Lock this murderous, sociopathic trash away for 50 years. I wish endless misery for him.

I hope the poor, innocent sisters recover fully.

Terrifying story.

Violent crimes in Okinawa committed by local citizens far exceed those committed by US military and related personnel.

Stalking by men is especially prevalent in Okinawa.

This is a result of the law in Japan which is too light. in my country, such a person is already sentenced to death.

such a person will only commit crimes again, after getting out of prison.

believe me something like this will become a daily food in Japan. And everyday news, if your law is too light.
