Police have arrested two Taiwanese men on charges of stealing high-class motorcycles in Tokyo.

According to police, the two suspects stole a Ducati and other bikes worth about 5.05 million yen last July in Tokyo’s Edogawa Ward, Fuji TV reported.

Police said the men are being questioned over their involvement in least 54 thefts, all of which targeted expensive motorcycles such as Harley Davidson, worth over 50 million yen altogether, Fuji TV reported.

Few things worse than a motorcycle thief. Somebody get me a rope!

I don't think Harley Davidson and high-class have ever been mentioned together before.

Wow! That's a dangerous comment! However, I have to agree. I'd much prefer a Honda rocket over an oil leaking rattler any day.

I'm sure the Japanese media are getting a lot of mileage out of busting a foreign gang (of two members) for stealing motorbikes. Japan's boarders are quite loose when it comes to stolen vehicles and motorbikes. There was a gang busted a few years for taking Land Cruisers and other 4WDs out of Japan into Russia through Hokkaido. They had chalked up hundreds of vehicles before they got busted.

Damn, this gonna give Taiwan a black eye! Former colony of Imperial Taiwan, most likely the perps were working for Taiwanese yaks aka Hei Dao, Bamboo Unions yaks, and reselling the bikes in Isla Formosa.

Don't you just love living in a country where "motorcycle theft" actually makes headlines? I sure do.

Harleys ain't high class, and that's what makes them so damn desirable.

I think this is a lost in translation question. "High class" and "expensive" are not exactly the same. "High end" may be closer to it in that it implicitly means higher price.

Undoubtedly the idea here is well known high priced bikes. And Harleys are that. They retail for, what, Yen 1+ million in Japan? Ducatis as well, are in the Yen 1~2 million range new.

Screw "rice burners", H. Davidson are the best motorcycles on the globe. Don't believe me? Go on a Sturgis Run.

This is pretty much what I meant. HD represents that outlaw lifestyle, the complete opposite of high-class IMO.

Harley's do not leak any more. They are considered high class here and are very expensive too. Beautiful machines.

HD represents that outlaw lifestyle

It represents freedom, unless you're in or hang around outlaw MC's.

Harley's are better now but due to their pricing have acquired a Yuppie status in many countries.

Personally as a Biker wouldn't ride one, rather give me a Yamaha Dragstar or similar Bike.
