Police in Tachikawa have arrested two men over the disposal of their boss's corpse.
According to police, Atsushi Tanaka, 33, and Takashi Hanada, 22, employees at a public works company, were arrested on suspicion of dumping the body of the company president, Kohei Tazaki, 24.
TBS quoted police as saying that Tazaki was known to have been drinking with Tanaka at his apartment on the evening of Sept 14. The following day, friends and family reported that they had lost contact with Tazaki and that his whereabouts were unknown.
During police questioning, Tanaka claimed that Tazaki had asked him to leave at around 11 p.m. because another acquaintance was coming to his apartment. However, police say he later confessed after CCTV camera footage was found of him using a company truck to transport Tazaki's body wrapped in a vinyl sheet and mattress.
TBS reported that Tanaka's testimony led officers to the premises of a construction company in Tokorozawa, Saitama, where Tazaki's body was found on Thursday. Police said that Tanaka claims Hanada helped him to bury Tazaki on Sept 15. Hanada has so far denied any knowledge of the incident.© Japan Today
