2 women, including 80-yr-old, arrested for beating man to death in Fukuoka

Police in Fukuoka City on Tuesday arrested two women for allegedly beating to death a 46-year-old homeless man in Sawara Ward on Monday. The suspects have been identified as Fudeko Tsuruzaki, 80, and Fumiko Inoue, 46.

According to police, the victim was a homeless man who was partially "living together" with the two suspects in Tsuruzaki's house. On Monday night, the two women were quoted as saying they continuously beat the man with empty bottles while they were drinking together because he had a "bad attitude."

The two women said they went out to eat dinner and found the victim unconscious after returning home. They then called emergency services. Concerned hospital officials reported the case to police after observing bruises on the man’s body. The victim died of internal injuries six hours after he was taken to the hospital. He also had a broken rib.

According to police, the two suspects and the victim were not related, but were often seen drinking together.

"On Monday night, the two women were quoted as saying they continuously beat the man with empty bottles while they were drinking together because he had a “bad attitude.”"

And killing someone is a 'positive' attitude?

I agree:

"On Monday night, the two women were quoted as saying they continuously beat the man with empty bottles while they were drinking together because he had a “bad attitude.”" And killing someone is a 'positive' attitude?

I wonder if such thinking perpetuates such activities against homeless here. There has been many such cases of homeless attacks, particularly by younger respondents.

Wow, what a household!

I would advise everyone to take articles like this with a grain of salt. My guess is that the older woman was just sucked into this, and perhaps the younger one may just as well be innocent. This article is too short and too sudden to give serious consideration, at least at this juncture. I will follow the case, and see where it ends up. --Michael Fox

What is with these "attitudes" i have read about them in lots of blurbs over the years, wasnt it one of these "attitudes" that got that ebizo guy in trouble........

And killing someone is a 'positive' attitude?

no, but may be it was a self-defence.

Is this true ?

You don't wanna mess with elderly Japanese women - they take no prisoners. Probably the toughest seniors in the world, IMO.

BTW - Rest in Peace poor homeless man. Sounds like he led a miserable life.

@LoveUSA,

no, but may be it was a self-defence.

Yeah, I can see how the following quote could be interpreted as the women defending themselves by beating a man with blunt instruments until he received mortal wounds.

On Monday night, the two women were quoted as saying they continuously beat the man with empty bottles while they were drinking together because he had a “bad attitude.”

Well... except for the fact that they CONTINUOUSLY beat him instead of fending him off and escaping. Oh, and the fact that instead of going to the police when they finally DID leave the home, they went "out to dinner" then returned afterwards. How many people claiming self-defense DON'T call the police and instead go eat dinner, then return to the place where the person that they needed to defend themselves agains is located? They didn't seem to be very fearful. Self-defense isn't going to be a viable defense.

Agree with Fadamor.

Self Defense is no argument here. The minute you can move away, flee, etc the confrontation is over, you put in the foot, etc afterwards and it becomes a fight with YOU being the antagonist.

Self Defense has a very narrow legal definition and most people that claim it are not aware of how their own actions invalidate that claim, actions both before and after the actual physical altercation.

LoveUSA: "no, but may be it was a self-defence."

What grounds do you have for this? If it was a man who beat to death a woman while he was drinking and then went out for dinner, would you automatically think it might have been self-defense? No, it's pretty clear that not only was it NOT self-defense, but it sounds a whole lot like they enjoyed themselves. There's not a whole lot of detail to go on, but murdering a person because he or she 'has a bad attitude' leaves nothing to be defended.

I said maybe it was self defence. i am not sure but it could be that the man assulted the woman first.

No doubt his "bad attitude" had something to do with spending their money .

Poor 46-year-old homeless man died in peace, but at least he was drunk when the incident occurred. Sake, beers, and whiskey can be bought everywhere in Japan. You can buy beers from a vendor machine.

@AsianTourist, 7-10 hours of suffering followed by death due to internal injuries does not qualify as dying "in peace". You're also jumping to conclusions when you say he was drunk. All the article says is that he was drinking with them. I also question whether the women were completely truthful in their statement. I'm a pretty big man, but even I would have trouble breaking someone's rib with an empty bottle. I wonder if they conveniently forgot to mention that once they knocked him down with the bottle(s), they kicked him in the ribs at least once.

anyone want to bet that they were all drinking on money they got from seikatsu-hogo?
