Police in Fukuoka City on Tuesday arrested two women for allegedly beating to death a 46-year-old homeless man in Sawara Ward on Monday. The suspects have been identified as Fudeko Tsuruzaki, 80, and Fumiko Inoue, 46.
According to police, the victim was a homeless man who was partially "living together" with the two suspects in Tsuruzaki's house. On Monday night, the two women were quoted as saying they continuously beat the man with empty bottles while they were drinking together because he had a "bad attitude."
The two women said they went out to eat dinner and found the victim unconscious after returning home. They then called emergency services. Concerned hospital officials reported the case to police after observing bruises on the man’s body. The victim died of internal injuries six hours after he was taken to the hospital. He also had a broken rib.
According to police, the two suspects and the victim were not related, but were often seen drinking together.© Compiled from news reports
