Police on Thursday arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of fatally abusing his two-month-old daughter at their home in Tokyo’s Adachi Ward last month.
According to police, the suspect, Koki Kobayashi, who is a carpenter by trade, beat his daughter Noa about the head several times on Feb 22. Fuji TV reported that on Feb 25, Noa became ill and her mother called 119. Noa was taken to hospital where she died shortly after arrival due to subcutaneous bleeding.
Hospital officials notified police about a possible case of child abuse. Bruises were found on other parts of Noa’s body and police believe she may have been frequently abused.
Police said Kobayashi has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying his daughter kept crying and he couldn’t sleep, so he hit her. But he denied any intent to kill her.

Nearly every day these kinds of articles appear and it's always the same excuse, "The child wouldn't stop crying, so I beat it." Beating a child does not make them stop crying you idiots!

And not like the state wouldn't be able to do anything, start a campaign on responsibility and public morals for example, if they actually cared about their people. I guess they need this to start happening hourly, not daily, to get a wind of where they are slowly heading.

I keep on repeating it : not everyone is made to become a parent.
If you can't handle some crying, don't have kids !

You frequently abused a tiny little baby, and then you wonder why she wouldn't stop crying? You are a moron. Unfortunately for the children, the very light if any sentence you received will not discourage you or others in this situation from continuing this type of behavior.

Should read receive darn auto correct

Well that just about ruined my morning. Baby killer!!!! What a loser. Everyday in Japan, and another child killed by their parents. There is a special place in hell for you.

Lock him up for life. As he's getting in prison what he did to his child, show him a pic of his young son when he was probably smiling, trusting, and loving of his father.

So let me get this straight.....he beat.....a 2 MONTH OLD BABY because she wouldn't stop crying? Just checking.
I mean...what was he expecting her to be doing? Quietly drawing up blueprints of buildings for him to build? She was 2 months! Its what 2 month olds do! Such a sad story.

an eye for an eye i firmly believe. this guy deserves the same fate as his daughter.

I have no sympathy for this guy. He hit is baby hard enough to kill her, and deserves all the punishment coming his way. But at the same time i will admit that in the first months of my daughter's life, the constant crying was one of the most stressful parts of raising her. Everyone warns you about being pooped on, being peed on, vomited on, having no sleep etc but i dont think anyone ever told me i would be dealing with what felt like constant crying. And that it does stress you out; you would do anything to help your child, but nothing you do seems to help. The feeling of helplessness is hard (but thankfully that period passed)
I can see that someone who is not good at dealing with stress, a younger parent perhaps or just one of those sad, anger-prone people, might snap. As Bintaro said, not everyone is adept at being a parent...

What an absolute b***ard... but if he beat the baby around the head on the 22nd, by the 25th there must have been bruises - didn't the mother notice them?

20 years old. With a 2 month old daughter. The article references him as the father and the mother as the mother, but nothing to denote that they were married.
So, clearly, this child was conceived when he was 19. Likely. The child's mother is probably his age or younger.
It's the same story repeated over and over and over again. Young people having children when they are still, essentially, "kids".
Wonder where the parents' parents ( the deceased daughter's grandparents) are?
Depressing, utterly depressing.

This is just sad and depressing.
