This preps them to become avid viewers of porn and users of the red light district establishments.

Those who don't have the income to afford the "fuzoku" establishments (like this p/t worker) have to address their pent-up 'needs' (as conditioned from a young age) in some manner...in his case it's slashing skirts, in others its molesting on trains, others straight-up rape.

Oh, they will.

They often only go with one initial charge because they can keep a suspect in custody longer if they let his 30 days run out, then charge him with another crime that merits another 30 days. They can hold him indefinitly if they keep tacking on charges.

There is a purpose to beginning with a simple, easy to prosecute charge. It gives them time to build their case on other more serious charges. Hopefully they'll later get him for sexual molestation as well.

I don't exactly agree with the way the Japanese justice system, works, but in some cases the person being charged is well-deserving.

Yes. Been here 20 years. This story is so old that one has to wonder why Japanese men / boys don't know that high school girls are just kids. In America, we date women our age. Of course there are those in America who are into little children, but they tend to be arrested and spend the rest of their lives in Jail. I think its called something like: Jail Bait. Or something.

Is there a Japanese law equivalent to assault with a deadly weapon? I think that is more appropriate. If and When Japan ends this SCAM called uniforms then people can dress freely and anyway they wish without being Targeted and Harassed. If the schools wants uniforms then they can change at school. Many of these kids are getting harassed because of these stupid uniforms.

Criminals ignore laws about knives? Clearly that means stronger knife control is lacking everywhere in Japan. That knife culture is terrible.

That individual should receive a caning and be sentenced to at least ten years in prison with no possibility of parole. Such consequences would likely discourage such action and encourage safety which would in effect increase the chances of a UTOPIA. It is a shock that these sort of horrible things could occur in Japan because I thought Japan as well as the other East Asian Countries (Taiwan, Mainland China) are known for being virtually free of street crime where one can walk around wherever and whenever they want regardless of gender. It is also my understanding that Japan and the other East Asian Countries (Taiwan, Mainland China) do not contain Ghetto areas like many western countries (e.g. Camden, New Jersey).
