Police in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, have arrested a 21-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of assaulting his 4-month-old son by punching him in the face at their home.

According to police, Kaito Yasuda called 119 on Sept 6, saying "something is wrong with my son."

The Kurashiki Child Consultation Center, which was contacted by the hospital where the son was taken, reported to the police that there was subcutaneous bleeding all over the child’s body and a fracture.

Police said Yasuda, who was arrested on Tuesday, is suspected of punching his son in the face once with his bare hands on Sept 5, causing a subcutaneous injury that took 10 days to heal.

Police said Yasuda has admitted to the allegation and quoted him as saying, "I got angry because he wouldn't stop crying.”

In May, a police officer went to Yasuda's home in response to a call about a marital dispute.

This so-called “man” deserves to be locked away for life. A fully grown adult punching a 4-month-old baby? That’s not just child abuse; it’s absolute evil, and there’s no excuse for it. Society should have zero tolerance for people who harm innocent children, especially their own. If he had any sense of decency or responsibility, he’d be protecting his son, not brutalizing him. There are those too quick to make excuses for clowns like this, but real justice means protecting the innocent from abusers who have no business being near kids.

As the saying goes, all children deserve parents, but not all parents deserve children.

I know it is inevitable that some of these criminals will slip between the cracks of the social system in place to stop this kind of problems, but this makes me feel the visit from the police had no real effect, it may be justified for the officer to make stronger warnings about the serious consequences that dealing domestic violence have, just to make people like Yasuda think twice before hitting.

Yes, punching a baby will stop the crying... by murdering it, perhaps? What a moron.

Having our soon-to-be 10-month-old grandson visit us almost daily, it breaks my heart to read of someone abusing little children. My grandson is the joy of my life and any baby can be the same to others.
