Police in Tokyo have arrested an unemployed 21-year-old man on suspicion of killing his girlfriend, who was in her 20s, at his apartment on Friday.
According to police, Hiroto Kajikawa showed up at a police station in Ota Ward at around 5:20 p.m. Friday and said he had killed someone at his apartment, Kyodo News reported.
Police went to the apartment and found the woman lying atop a futon. She was declared dead at the scene from a knife wound to her chest. A blood-stained knife was on the floor near the body.
Police quoted Kajikawa as saying he got angry after she told him she wanted to end their relationship. The couple lived together, police said.

And I thought this was only happening in certain countries. Break up must be traumatic for some.

I’ll be surprised if he gets more than 15 years.

In modern times, since 1990, there have been executions for single murders.

Time to start imposing the death penalty for a single and not only multiple killings, people know that if only one is killed they will be able to avoid the death penalty and that's what we are beginning to see these days.

These kind of blanket statements about Japan are so lazy. Can you actually give a date as to when the last time it was reported on this website? I bet you can't because these types of crimes are quite rare, but when it does happen it's sensationalised.

Don’t think you’ll be winning any prizes for logical reasoning this week, chief. (You might wanna check out ‘third-cause fallacy’ and look up the difference between ‘correlation’ and ‘causation’.)

Cough, cough, cough, excuse me......
"she wanted to end their relationship"
"According to police; said he had killed" someone?
"dead from a knife wound to her chest."
Cough, cough, cough, excuse me......
Reads like he that old vengeance demon on him, unleashed from, no more happy endings;
now he's cursed for eternity.

This happens so often in Japan. The girl wants to break up and they end up dead. It’s no surprise so many women want to remain single. No doubt this is contributing greatly to the declining birthrate.
