Police have arrested an unemployed 21-year-old man on suspicion of stealing 17 smartphones from a large supermarket in Tokyo's Edogawa Ward.
According to police, Tadashi Watanabe stole the smartphones, worth around 1,340,000 yen, last month. TBS reported that Watanabe was caught on surveillance camera footage.
Watanabe was quoted by police as saying he needed money and planned to sell the smartphones. He also admitted to having stolen phones from other stores.
Since last December, there have been more than 20 cases of smartphone thefts in stores in Tokyo and five other prefectures, police said.

Was the theft done by breaking in to the shop or broad daylight?

Well I think his parents never teached him that if you want money you have to work hard. No surprise there that he's unemployed.

"An unemployed 21-year-old man".
Why is their job or lack of always stated?
