Police in Kitagata, Gifu Prefecture, have re-arrested a 24-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of child abuse after he allegedly threw his 14-month-old infant son onto a blanket on the floor.

According to police, Sho Koga, who was arrested on Sunday, abused the baby at around 11:45 a.m. on May 10, local media reported. He is accused of grabbing the child by both arms and throwing him down.

Police said the child’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Koga was first arrested on May 11 for allegedly assaulting his 33-year-old wife at their house after she called police and said that her husband had kicked her in the abdomen.

Koga lives in the house with his wife, two-year-old daughter and son, as well his nine-year-old stepdaughter.

What’s with all these recent child abuse and domestic violence stories, men threatening schoolchildren with knives and attempts at child abduction/missing children in Japan?

But, on the other side of the argument, she chose him. Pity.

And she'd best leave him. Give him a divorce while he's in prison.

Another young family/soon-to-be single mother in crisis. Koga’s been arrested first for kicking the wife in the stomach and no mention here if the 2y.o. sister and 9y.o stepsister were also abused. She and the children need help. Would be interested to read about the family’s disposition as well to what sentence he gets.

I'd like to see a follow-up to this story saying the basta*d got his due in the joint. But, it's Japan, and it's something that will just be swept under the rug. Makes me feel sorry for the woman for choosing such a loser to live with. But, on the other side of the argument, she chose him. Pity.

Not a popular emerging reality about Japan’s families but, there are deeper issues seething in many homes, and they are not due to any pandemic:

It’s difficult for abusers, their enablers and even their apologists/excusers to face but, they can’t deny it.

Re-arrested? As in this guy had previously been arrested for domestic violence and the government just what, let him go? Didn't do periodic welfare checks on the household to make sure things were okay? Once again, social welfare services in Japan prove what an abject failure they are.

Didn't we read yesterday that another husband kicked his wife when she was down? What's with kicking the wife syndrome by these men? What do they think they are doing playing soccer?

> Police in Kitagata, Gifu Prefecture, have re-arrested

So in other words, blame the cops and the judicial system for not getting rid of this scum the first time.

How many more times is this criminal going to have to assault innocent people before he is put down?

Do society a favor, Kitagata. Execute this fool.
