Police in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture, have arrested a 24-year-old man wanted in connection with four robberies that occurred one after another in Tokyo and Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, last week.
Police said Rikiya Morita, whose address and occupation are unknown, was arrested Monday, Sankei Shimbun reported. He is the fourth suspect to be arrested over a robbery in Tokorozawa. The other three suspects, in their 20s and 30s, were apprehended last week and Morita was put on a nationwide wanted list.
According to police, the four suspects broke into a house in the early hours of October 1, tied up an 85-year-old male resident and his 83-year-old wife, slashed them with a knife, and stole 80,000 yen in cash and other items.
Three of the suspects were arrested last week. They told police they had applied for an illegal part-time job on an app. Police said instructions were given to the perpetrators from what appears to be the same account that has since been deleted.
Morita is believed to have driven the getaway car used in the crime, as well as another robbery in Kokubunji, Tokyo.
Police said 10 people have been arrested for at least 10 robberies in Tokyo and three neighboring prefectures since August. In all cases, the suspects said they were recruited via a mobile crime app.

I wonder how the online "boss" knew those particular victims had valuables and/or cash at home?

How beat the confession out of the pinks and lock them away for a long time.

As always blame it on the internet PROVIDER first and not the criminals, they provide the LIFE LINE to these apps.

Good job by the cops once more, but it will be tough catching the initiator behind them all.
