Police in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, on Tuesday arrested an unemployed 25-year-old man on suspicion of abusing his two-month-old son.

According to police, the suspect, Katsuya Noguchi, beat his son's head, then shook him by the neck at their home between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday, while his wife was out.

On Monday morning, Noguchi's wife noticed there was something wrong with the child and took him to hospital. A doctor diagnosed that the child was suffering internal bleeding. The hospital notified police and reported the incident as a case of possible child abuse.

Police said the child's life is not in danger.

This guy is sicko and he never should have child again in his life time. The coward father beating defenseless 2 months old son on the head and shaking was intention to kill the child but nothing else. He should be sentence to life in prison. This guy was monster.

Thunderbird....

i want to agree with u so bad... but i can't. I raised my son with my wife alone after his 7 months... , yes it's hard , i didn't imagine that, i think people don't know how hard it is. But never, never i would have hit my son because he was crying. We love him. He's 3 years old.. and still hardcore to manage :) , but we deal with it

If I had a 2 month old baby and my wife left me home with him, I would relish every second with my son because I get to be a dad! People like this guy never realize the opportunities they have and throw away that others would die to have. I really hope the baby has a normal life without any side effects, defects or problems from this incident.

I am looking at this as a whole and really fail to fathom any sense in leaving just any kind of commentary (except for the lynching commentaries, they are insane so the sense does not apply to them). Those who care in a long term do know that this has not changed and there are no plans on changing it. Such "news" will appear on a weekly basis. Everything has already been said numerous times over the years. Saying anything in this regard is just an another dimension of insanity, repeating the action again and again without having it produce just any results. I have met a serious existential crisis on this site, and this is probably it's final point.

So we're insane because we express our opinions that this man should be punished for his terrible crime? You can take your existential self on out here if you don't like what you're reading

what were the reasons this time? he didn't know how to make the baby stop crying? This is exactly one of the reasons I decided to stay with my japanese in-laws, at least until the first years, child-rearing is tougher than people think, and if you are all by yourself you can really have a hard time. I'm not defending the actions of this guy, but I kind of imagine the situation and desperation to the point of abusing his own son. You have to understand some people need help instead of punishment.

What a scumbag. a 2 month old baby?? Lock him up for life.

I long for the day when I see a headline like, "25 year-old man severely beaten for abusing 2-month old son."

So do I. Let him get a taste of his own medicince.

Make sure the child never sees him again, and lock the guy up for a while. Thank the gods the wife noticed something was wrong. Hope she divorces the guy toute de suite. At least since it's a man there will be none of the usual pity excuses.

Seriously. Hang this dog by his neck till it snaps. Then burn his body. He deserves nothing less.

insanity to cause a life is not acceptable. lock up in an isolated island.

This is absolutely heartbreaking that someone could hurt an innocent child like that. The wife was brave to report it. I agree that in Japan with such a useless justice system it is likely the man will just get a warning and be free to to it again - he should be destroyed.

The max he will get is few months suspended for 5 years.
