Jeeze that's horrible. Ask your parents, ask the cops, and still get knifed in the throat. I don't want to assume anything, but for her parents sake, I sure hope they begged her to leave the fool and come back home, and she refused. otherwise they're gonna wanna seppuka next.

Thank goodness you have GUN CONTROL in your country. In Japan no guns means NO CRIME...right?

Or you could pass a new law like the British are doing and require that all kitchen knives have a blunt tip. Then we have KNIFE CONTROL which once again would mean NO CRIME in Japan.

Who said that "GUN CONTROL" equates to "NO CRIME"? Any quotes of anyone saying that? I think most would say "GUN CONTROL" in Japan equates to less crime involving guns and/or less violent crimes.

But heh, it's fun to make fictional statements, so you can win your own arguments.

You are so right Good_Jorb (I like the way you think).

Actually in cases like this which we call "Crimes of Passion" (I love you...now I hate you). People will use WHATEVER is available,. eg. gun, knife, basball bat, 2x4, bookends, lamps, bare hands, even pillows.

We also don't know full details like maybe she was cheating on him? It only goes to show you that LOVE can kill you !!!

as said above, if you want to kill you will use anything. axes, screwdrivers, cables, curry rice...cannot coat the whole world in cotton wool. some people are nuts, thats it.

What make a knifing less violent that a shooting?

I have a friend whose friend is being battered by her partner. She complains and whines and cry and show her bruises, broken bones, scratches. Then she goes back to the guy and the guy will treat her like a queen begging for forgiveness then the violence starts again, sometimes ending in hospitalization. She cries when she talk to my friend, ask advice, seek help but in the end she will always return to the guy. And I don't know about this girl but it could be also the same case where the victim always return to be further aggravated and abused. People undergoing domestic violence must be referred to psychologist because often they think they caused the problem and are justified in receiving punishment.

He did not mean on a case by case basis so much as he meant in general across the country.

Common sense tells us its easier to kill with a gun and easier to kill more at a time. Because Japan has so few guns fewer people get killed. Common sense and even plain old statistics bear that out.

So easy to say after the fact Romulus. Most domestic abuse cases do not end in murder. Its easy to over-react to such situations, and I would wager that over-reacting would increase the number of cases resulting in murder. We cannot sit back with so few details, assume every domestic abuse case is the same, and suggest fleeing right off the bat. Its possible the abuse was severe enough to warrant that option, but its also likely that no one could have fore-seen this outcome. But fleeing also has its dangers, as some men are like dogs and are given to chasing down those who flee. Sad but true.

The decision to kill is not made by the knife, sword, gun, baseball bat, piece of rope or any other inanimate object. The decision to kill is made by an individual and when he/she has made that decision, they will find the means. The knife attack in Akibahara killed many and only took about 10 minutes.

What has that got to do with anything? The number of people that can be killed is determined by a host of factors, including and especially the killing efficiency of the weapon. I would rather hold a gun and face three men with knives than me and two mates have knives and face just one man with a gun. Isn't this completely obvious to you?

The decision to kill is made by an individual and when he/she has made that decision, they will find the means.

Well aren't you the hopeful fool! Usually, people give up murder and crime for rather trivial difficulties. For lack of handy weapons, murders and injuries are prevented. This is common criminal justice theory in the modern age, mate, and it works.

The knife attack in Akibahara killed many and only took about 10 minutes.

He killed three with a truck. He killed four with the knife in the confusion that ramming a crowd with a truck caused. It was an extreme and singular event that lends your argument no credence in general matters. The only reason he might have had difficulty in meeting the same toll with a gun is that the noise would have dispelled the confusion. Even so, he probably could have slain many more.

I suggest you look at general events, and not the most extreme you can find, to get a picture of what usually happens. Knives are used as murder weapons in the United States second only to guns. However, the number slain is half, which means second place is not even close. And that is murder. Knives dont accidently go off. Even accidental knifings are less likely to be fatal than accidental shootings.

Hm I wonder who killed her? Could it be the boyfriend? Maaaaybe! This guy will be found hung some place.

JoeBigs: No doubt.

Either her boyfriend did it or whoever did kidnapped him...

My advice would been that once the violence starts it never stops no matter how meaningfully he says sorry. Leave & leave now.

No, it's not a 100% truth, but if you have ever had to help a woman rebuild herself after such a relationship you would know that right or wrong it is the best advice. Finding out later that you were right & the man was a pig is too late, the damage will have been done.

I don't know what this girl was told, but the fact she stayed killed her. As somebody above said, in situations like this it is all too common that the girl does go back. Why women do this is beyond me, but they do.
