Police in Osaka’s Hirakata city have arrested an unemployed 27-year-old man on suspicion of fatally stabbing his uncle.
The body of Masamitsu Takashima, 45, was found in his apartment at around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday by a home helper who notified the police, Sankei Shimbun reported.
Takashima had suffered multiple stab wounds and had two knives stuck in his abdomen at the time his body was discovered, police said.
Takashima’s 27-year-old nephew, who had been living in the same apartment and was present at the time police arrived, was arrested.
The man confessed to the crime, saying that although he had “no clear recollection of the incident,” he is “positive” that he stabbed his uncle, police said.
The nephew also told police that the two had been having issues and he snapped over his uncle’s attitude.

Do Japanese people have a lot of pent-up anger or what? I was in Toronto when a visiting Japanese executive lost his cool and started raising his voice with everyone around him, over something quite trivial.
Thinking back, it seems that I have pissed off almost all the Japanese that I had spent a significant amount of time with. At one point or another, almost all of them lost their cool with me, but then apologized profusely to me afterwards. At first I thought it was me, but then I don't seem to have the same issue with non Japanese.
