There's that word that's almost always present in these kinds of stories - unemployed. The father probably told him to go out and finally be a shakaijin and he flipped his wheels.

There has been a steady rise of mental cases in Japan, specifically after the onset of the C-19 virus.

Just an argument and you decide to stab your parent??

OssanAmerica - Love these semi-news articles that tell you absolutely nothing, and leave you wondering if it was a crazed unprovoked attack, or an act of self defense against an abusive father.

Yes, I agree. However, this is Japan where you are guilty until proven innocent. Extenuating circumstances or self defense are irrelevant in a kangaroo court system.

You have a totally biased view of the Japanese court system. I have disagreements frequently too, but at least I am not biased. In Japan you are neither guilty nor innocent until judgement. Which, if you think about it. makes much more sense than automatically assuming all those convicted are innocent until judgement.
