Police in Isehara, Kanagawa Prefecture, have arrested a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of attempting to kill her 38-year-old husband.
According to police, Kensuke Hayashi, a bar manager, called 119 at around 4:15 a.m. on Monday and said his wife had stabbed him in the stomach at their apartment, Sankei Shimbun reported. An ambulance was dispatched to the apartment. Hayashi was found bleeding from a stomach wound. He was taken to hospital where doctors said Tuesday his wound was not life-threatening.
Police arrested his wife, Erina, who works in her husband’s bar, at the scene. Police said she has admitted to the charge but denied intent to kill. She was quoted as saying she stabbed her husband, who was drunk, after they had quarreled and that he had tried to choke her. She said she meant to stab him in the leg but lost her balance and the knife went into his abdomen.

@do-the-hustle,
She could try that but prosecutors will get a confession that she tried to kill her husband before she gets to see a lawyer who could advise that idea.
Do the hustle
Self defense?

I think she just lost her job at the bar her husband manages ....

No, that would be self-defense, and justifable. At least morally. Sometimes the law doesn't align with morals.
No, you're not right. It's always bad when either partner commits (non-consensual) violence upon the other. Regardless of gender.

Good point. I'd like to hear her response.

Why is it that I always read in the articles that people admitted, confessed to their acts at police station, what is it that the police do to get these confessions so fast and easy right away???
Monozuki
At any rate, good thing the husband has escaped death.

How convenient that she had a knife in her hand while she was being choked.

Sounds like an energetic marriage....

Nice!
People already defending the woman.
It's the man's fault as always.
You get stabbed by her, your fault.
She's a bad girlfriend, your fault.
She's a bad wife, does something crazy, your fault.
Bad mother, ignores her children, must be the man's fault.
This male feminist always defending their woman, no matter how bad she is, I'm sure that will make women better in the future, by always giving them a pass on everything they do.

Marriage is not for everyone.

@Do the hustle Self defense? No!!! It was Drunk Offense!!

It's easy to say, "He tried to choke me." And convenient after stabbing him. If it actually was self defense, I hope she had marks to back it up.

Yes, if a man is choking a woman, and she stabs him with a knife to make him stop and not kill her, she is a bad wife.
On the other hand, he is a perfectly nice, kind, husband, because choking your wife when she pisses you off is perfectly normal way for a husband to behave. AmIrite?

Of course, you are right!
Spot on!
Correct!
Because women so often lie about rape, molestation, sexual harassment, groping, and of course, domestic violence!
There is always a distinct possibility that women who report serialized and gender-based violence, because these are so rare, so uncommon, hardly ever occur, so that we must follow the axiom "“Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.”
We cannot possibly take a woman at her word!
How absurd!
