Police in Kai, Yamanashi Prefecture, said Thursday they were questioning the husband of a 28-year-old woman who died after being found unconscious in her home.

According to police, Eri Fujiwara was found at around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. TV Asahi reported that she was found unconscious, facing upwards on her bed. She was taken to hospital where she died shortly after arrival.

Police said Fujiwara's 44-year-old husband, who was in the house at the time, called 119, and said that his wife had fallen from the second floor. However, police said there were injuries on Fujiwara's body not consistent with a fall.

On Thursday, police began questioning the victim's husband about the circumstances of her death.

Of you are a middle aged man in Japan you can walk down any street at any time of day without any fear, but if you are woman or a child the danger starts when you get home.

A whole lot of reports of people killing each other, at a guess.

"injuries on Fujiwara’s body not consistent with a fall" Strangulation marks around her neck. But that's just a guess, I don't have certified copies of the evidence photos, and signed affidavits from the investigating officers.
