Say what? You got it backwards. If there is no demand, supply is useless. People will always do drugs, and therefore the black market and cartels will spring up when governments decide that intoxicating one's self is somehow a criminal issue.
What's reprehensible is a government that would try to paint it's citizens as morally and legally reprehensible for doing something that is and has been part of human nature for all of human history. What's reprehensible is that they would prefer to allow a situation that encourages a black market, due to this ridiculous idea that there is something morally wrong with intoxicating one's self.
garypen
Nope.
Nope.

I’d like to speculate here.....
The New Zealand guy got busted with a little bag he had forgotten about or he foolishly thought that “team mates stick together and don’t dob each other in”, not realising that this value might apply in New Zealand but not Japan.
geronimo2006
Rugby n Coke. Should have stuck to the rum n coke. Wonder if they will run tests on the rest of the team. Bet they will want to avoid that. Don't really get the lame apologies - Sorry for causing trouble.... Stop repeating that. No trouble for anyone except you.
Stewart Gale
Actually, that's not right. He was arrested yesterday, it says.
You're correct, what an idiot for not dumping it when his team mate got nabbed.
Stewart Gale
@Kniknaknokkaer, it says he was arrested on the same day as the other guy.
Not sure why the police didn't release the news of his arrest until yesterday.

As a stimulant I wonder if cocaine supports physical prowess?
Kaerimashita
Notice also how so many of these mediocre over the hill rugby players from NZ and Oz and SA end up here. One reason J rugby has so far only reached mediocre standard.
nandakandamanda
Maybe.
"Where did you get it?"
"gimme a break, man!"
"No breaks. Who, when, where, how much, and who with, and if you are honest, and if everything checks out, maybe then we will turn off your cell lights at night...."
Stewart Gale
The Japanese player got busted and sang like a canary.
Kaerimashita
Either their dealer or one of their friends grassed them up. Either way, dumb. Legalise it all, I say, and let JT run the Japan monopoly.
sourpuss
Indeed it was. And did you miss how those manufacturing the product treated those around them?
These rugby guys are just supporting the cartels and their murderous operations. THAT is morally reprehensible. I mean seriously, drink two Monsters and you’re flying

Most people flip for favorable consideration. To quote Donald Trump "someone is a rat" How far will the cards go?
Ascissor
As a rugby player, he enjoyed a cheeky line-out.
Ganbare Japan!
I will say it again. Just stick to drinking beer, sake, wine, whiskey etc and you'll be fine. No need for illegal drugs, none at all .
DaDude
You shouldn't be getting high in a country where it is highly illegal no matter which nationality.
Strangerland
No, alcohol is on the list of approved intoxicants, so that one is fine. Doing hard drugs not on the list of approved intoxicants is really dumb.
madmanmunt
Doing hard drugs in Japan is reallly dumb.
Strangerland
Correction, the list of approved intoxicants.
Strangerland
What in tarnation are you talking about? Narcos was about the manufacture and distribution within a black market created through the lack of a supply for the demand due to the drug not being on the list of approved substances. Narcos isn't about those doing the drugs.
sourpuss
Interesting pov. Ever seen Narcos? There’s some paragons of virtue for ya.
Strangerland
Well these guys made the mistake of intoxicating themselves with a substance not on the list of officially approved intoxicants. Morally defunct. It's only moral if the drugs is on the approved list.
macv
never ever get high with a japanese person soon as there is trouble they will rat you out
Chip Star
Same supplier? The police go through the contacts on phones and make surprise visits.
sourpuss
Dumb dee dumb dumb... I wonder who’s going to be next. These guys need to get smart. A couple of Monster drinks will give you the same buzz
