Three out of four family members died after the car they were in went off a wharf into the sea in Miura, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Wednesday, in what police suspect may have been a murder-suicide.
According to police, a man who was fishing nearby reported that he saw a car moving at high speed plunge into the water near a fish market at around 2 a.m., Fuji TV reported
Police said a boy, 12, a woman in her 40s, and a woman in her late 60s or early 70s were found trapped in the car. They were taken to hospital where they were confirmed dead.
A 10-year-old boy who escaped from the sunken car was also rescued and is in a stable condition. According to the boy, the four were family members.
Reports say that there was no sign of brakes being used and the vehicle went over the concrete blocks used as a barricade at the wharf's edge.

The mother is an inhumanly selfish monster. It seems that some Japanese women feel entitled to steal or murder their children according to their whims.
The poor father must feel crushed to know what his selfish and disgusting wife has done to his beautiful children.

Another family murder in Japan. It would be great to know who was driving the car. I’m guessing it wasn’t he ten year old who escaped.

I wonder what forces a 'woman', a 'wife' to go to these extremes. If you decide to kill yourself, that's already bad. But to take others with you, especially young innocent children...that is just pure evil. People in this country need avenues and systems which they can use to release and deal with all their pent up rage.

Tragic. At least the 10 year old boy survived. What he must have been going through... along with the other three family members who died a horrible death...

I hate it when a suicidal parent decides to end the life of their children as well. It must be taught in school that they have no right to do that, clearly no one is bothering

Not only does this affect family but also affects neighbors, classmates and teachers who will always regret not being able to prevent the situation from happening. I have never forgotten a friend of mine in high school who shot and killed himself by mistake. It just stays with you.

While I understand depression is a disease and can defy logic, I think it is apt to call this "murder-suicide".
