Police in Hachioji, Tokyo, have arrested three male high school students on suspicion of assault after they beat up a classmate in August.
According to police, the three students, aged 15-16, beat up their 15-year-old classmate in a grassy field in Otsumachi on the evening of Aug 12, Fuji TV reported.
The assault was witnessed by a passerby who called 110.
The boy suffered a fractured jaw and has still not fully recovered, police said.
The victim has told police that before the assault, one of the boys said to him: “You threw a cigarette at my girlfriend, didn't you?” and “You’ve been badmouthing me to my girlfriend.” The boys also demanded to know why he had dyed his hair blond and said he was getting carried away with himself.
Police said the three boys have admitted to the charge and said there had been trouble between the trio and the victim since May.© Japan Today
