3 bogus police officers who robbed family arrested

The men showed police badges and fake IDs, and asked to come in.

How can you not remember showing police badges and fake IDs, threatening people and demanding money, stealing 12 million yen in cash and ATM cards, and then tying them up before leaving ? Just slipped his mind??

Police said they also looking for a fourth man who may have been the ringleader of the gang and their involvement in other similar reported cases.

This was a premeditated and targeted robbery. Disguises and instruments to bound people. Perhaps the 4th person knows this family and knew they have money at the house. The police should start looking at any known people or recent visitors to their house. Fan outfrom there.

What part of getting dressed up as a police officer with your mates, robbing an elderly couple, tying them up with their son and probably getting paid for this job don't you seem to remember? Good work J-police for getting these scumbags.

It is a serious crime to fraudulently pretend to be, or to impersonate, a police officer. Including wearing a police uniform or displaying a fake badge, it can inhibit the public confidence and trust in police, their departments, and authority.

Once again, unbelievable amount of cash sitting in a home! I will never understand it!

@lamilly..No difference whether your 12 million is under the bed or in the bank. Almost no interest and banks are robbed digitally every day

if you have a load of cash at home and get robbed, the house insurance probably wont cover that amount, may be a very small amount, but when its in a bank you stand a much higher chance of being reembursed especially if its not your fault or your accounts been hacked into.

Japan is becoming more dangerous, and its not going to get any better. There goes Japan is safe its a lot better than some other places in the world but ....!

What is the rule in Japan? If men show up to your door, say they are Police, show you a badge, and ask to come in, are you allowed to refuse them? Is it allowed to reply, "No, please come back with a warrant."

I'm sure their invitation must be couched in a most helpful tone, too, so that the person is happy to invite them in - "We have heard of some threats to residents of this neighborhood and we'd like to come in and tell you about them." It would be hard for me and Mrs. Affist to refuse.
