Police have arrested three male teenagers on suspicion of assaulting and robbing a man on a street in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture.
According to police, the three suspects are two youths, aged 18 and 19, whose addresses and occupations are unknown, and a 15-year-old boy who goes to a municipal junior high school of Sagamihara, and lives in Ebina City, Fuji TV reported. Police said the student has admitted to the crime while the other two have denied the charge.
The incident occurred at around 5:15 am on Jan 5, on a street in Midori Ward. The three suspects are accused of assaulting a 59-year-old man with sticks. The man suffered injuries including a fractured bone in his left arm. The trio stole his wallet which contained around 25,000 yen.
Police said a similar incident occurred in Sagamihara City on Dec 8 and added they are questioning the suspects about their involvement in that case as well.© Japan Today
