Police in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, on Saturday arrested an unemployed 50-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after three women were attacked by a man with a knife-like object within 10 minutes of each other as they walked along a sidewalk on Saturday morning.

According to police, the first incident occurred at around 10:40 a.m. Saturday. Fuji TV quoted police as saying that a man came up behind a woman, cut her with a blade and then ran away. Within the next 10 minutes, two other women within 400 meters of where the first incident took place reported similar attacks.

Police said the three women, aged 58, 71 and 80, received light cuts to their arms and shoulders, but did not require hospitalization.

One hour later, police officers approached a man about four kilometers from where the attacks took place. He had a pair of scissors protruding from his pocket. The suspect, identified as Isamu Yokota, has admitted to wanting to kill someone with the scissors, police said.

No doubt he's accustomed to being a cowardly failure.

This is the second one in Chiba today. There was another one in Matsudo this morning where a loon attacked six people with a knife and a baseball bat. Summer has come! It's gonna be a long hot summer this year.

If the above-mentioned was true, giving him some money wouldn't work. Very scaring.

Hey I love Chiba, but I always have a machete next to the goods, nood, nood a wink is as good to a blind man. Grumpy old people are the new zombies.

I'll say the same thing I said about the Matsudo incident: Glad that none of the victims had life-threatening injuries.

target, elderly and women. his prison time will be very difficult, he won't find any of them there. Just the odd angry yakuza.

This doesn't make sense. A knife like object turned out to be a pair of scissors sticking out someone's pocket with tendencies to kill someone with scissors? What are the chances?

Was he looking to get a roof over his head?
