All 100 people should be indicted.

That would be the fair thing to do.

Stand trial, and decide on public view.

One law for them another law for us. Prosecutors and the court system are too close to the LDP. Giving free passes to corruption, but jail for homeless stealing ¥10.

I assume that these 34 individuals are in custody, and that bail will automatically be denied to them.

That might be so, but wait! Remember. Japan Ministry of Justice has to maintain its 99.9% conviction rate.

34 might be charged and receive suspended sentences, maybe.

Wow 34? Someone’s going to be promoted. Congrats!

Where do you think that 0.1% comes from ;)

Prosecutors did not bring charges against the 35th person, a Hiroshima city assembly member who suffers from ill health.

They pulled the old Abe Trick, “I have a sore tummy”.

“I’m too old to go to jail and too important”, idiot you broke the law no doubt in your youth you would probably be released by now but. now there is this social media so we all know who you are what you did. had you been caught early, you would probably be walking out of prison now. Criminal actions are ok for LDP members still get a pass. I do it do it ands it’s 9 months in solitary and then an extensive jail time, really wake up Japan. Can I plead “I’m old and have been doing it all my life?”

The last time this happened, all of the people mysteriously had their indictments drop because some one was connected to a high ranking member of LDP and threatened to expose someone higher up for another crime.

They pulled the old Abe Trick, “I have a sore tummy”.

Yep, I think doctors diagnosed it as "LDP cowardice syndrome."

Cause: Greed

Symptoms: Forgetfulness, tummy aches, and lots of lies

Treatment: Media blackout, Short term exile from politics or Short term stay in a hospital until the J-public forgets what they originally did or the problem goes away.

Just another Tuesday in corrupt Japan.

The most surprising fact from all of these is that the bribe is bloody CHEAP!!

In PR China, rigging the election is useless but it's still a necessary formal process. Paying voters in China's poorest province can go up above 1 million USD!!!

The recent article in Yahoo Japan about "Cheap Japan is becoming a poor country" echoes the cheapness of a sentiment about Japan.
