What day isn't an anniversary of something? As I've said before, for those involved it doesn't matter if it's a year, three, six years and two days, or 100 years, it'll always be there, and they should of course always do their best to remember, but why does it always have to be so public?

One of the biggest horror attacks since the Aum Shinrikyo. Terrible way to die. 36 young lives. mostly females snubbed out before their primes.

The only people who remember are the ones who want to.

Looks like there still is not a memorial to the victims. I think the locals oppose that plan.

Cricky 3 years ago, where does time go? if my memory serves me right, at the time there was a lot of allegations and questions raised by the death of so many people in this building, one of those was that the fire doors were locked which stopped people escaping, and there was quite a few more serious questions raised over the fire escapes, lighting for the fire escapes, smoke detectors and sprinklers, has there been a though external investigation into these allegations, if so, where are they for use to read, and what recommendations have been made over the increasing of safety in buildings so this does not happen again.

This incident was huge. But that's with the Japanese media's obsession with anniversaries? This was the top news story in Japan yesterday, but there was no "news." Just a recap of everything we've known for the past 3 years.
