Police in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, have arrested a man and three women on suspicion of confining a 19-year-old woman in a car for over 10 hours.
According to police, at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a call from a man saying that his brother had carted a woman off with his car, Fuji TV reported. Police spotted the car near the border with Saga Prefecture at around 3 a.m. and ordered the car to pull over. However, the car sped off.
After the car chase which lasted for 90 minutes and involved four police cars, police arrested the driver, Hiroto Saito, 21, and three of his female friends.
According to police, Saito and the three women had confined Saito's ex-girlfriend, 19, in the car since 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The victim sustained light injuries to her neck, police said.
Saito was quoted by police as saying the woman was not confined and that he just wanted to discuss their relationship break-up with her.© Japan Today
