Police in Kagoshima have arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting two elementary school boys by punching them in the face and pulling their arms and hair.
The incident occurred at around 5:20 p.m. on Feb 2, local media reported. Police said Kenji Ueno, whose occupation is unknown, assaulted the boys in a store. Police identified Ueno from security camera footage and the boys later confirmed he was the man who hit them.
Police said the boys, who sustained minor injuries, told them they didn’t know Ueno.
Police said Ueno has admitted hitting the boys and quoted him as saying, “I lost my temper because I thought they were calling me bad names.”

Poor kids. That's going to take a while to get over.
Gene Hennigh
Kids can anger adults because kids are kids and often push the envelope. Walk away. They have little or no chance to handle an adult and his doing so no doubt had a negative effect on these children. He deserves a harsh punishment and the kids deserve a few sessions with a psychologist, no matter how bad they are.

I hope he doesn’t come out alive from the jail. He is dangerous for the society.
Fighto!
Sounds fair to me. Plus at least 10 full-blooded kicks to the groin.

Yeah, I DID show them. Where I come from, once you reach a certain age, actions have a variety of consequences and I don't need to hear the "they are only kids" copout. What I did is a deterrent to future stupidity which may have much more grave results. Handle it however you choose but it WORKED for me every time.

Welcome to the world of a foreigner in Japan.

if he's right.............they're elementary kids! who cares? let them act a fool.
I'm sure you SHOWED them........
All you have to do is mock them back! they're kids, that's what they do!
let the punishment fit the crime, have the kid's parents punch him in the face and pull his hair. fair is fair.

“I lost my temper because I thought they were calling me bad names.”
The whacko of the week award goes to this violent loon. Hopefully his sentence will include some therapy.

What if he's right? Still no excuse for his actions but I've had to put a few people, young kids included, in their place for talking about and even mimicking me. Helped rectify their misguided opinion that Japanese is just too hard of a language for us foreigners to understand. Came as quite a shock. No violence was ever necessary, just a good tongue-lashing. It was ever so satisfying too!

Wonder if he has mental issues, if it’s true he may have some form of paranoia. Unless it’s common for him to behave in this way it’s strange for someone to do this. Some people can turn into a mentalist by stress too or maybe he’s just a bad egg. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Nah, only the entire female population and your former co-workers do, Ueno.

remove the animal from society. He will only become more of a danger.

He remembers! That's real progress.

"Police in Kagoshima have arrested a 11-year-old man"
I doubt the man was eleven.
Moderator: Sorry for the typo. It should be 41.
