Police in Fukuoka City have arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of taking voyeuristic images of a 21-year-old woman while she was taking a bath at her home.

According to police, Suguru Wakatsuki, an elementary school janitor, is accused of pointing his smartphone through the bathroom window of the woman’s house in Higashi Ward at around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday and filming her in the bath, NHK reported.

The woman spotted the smartphone and called out to her mother who notified police.

When police rushed to the scene, they found Wakatsuki lurking in the area. They looked at the contents of his smartphone and found 30 seconds of video footage of the victim bathing, leading to his arrest.

Police said Wakatsuki has admitted to the allegation and quoted him as saying, “I did it to satisfy my sexual desires."

Never bathe with your window open.

That's the worst invasion of privacy!

A closed curtain and closed window would have been enough to thwart this pervert. He must either have been walking around and found a victim or she does it regularly and he knew that. I'd be interested to find out which is correct

Porn is what emboldens these people by inflaming their desires.

Bathroom windows are usually frosted glass.

Suguru Wakatsuki, an elementary school janitor...

Please tell me he is now an ex elementary school janitor. I wonder what attracted him to working in an elementary school in the first place.

A bathroom window?! Wow, in the five different homes I've lived: never had one. No secret photos of me then thank goodness!

Bathroom windows are usually frosted glass.

yes.. but if its open the frosting is nothing.

Usually windows for baths are located either in a side of the house that is not easily accesssible and/or is hidden from outside view.

Unfrotunately, old houses tend to not meet those requirements and even relatevely new houses have this deffect due to land reorganization works (extending, reducing the sizes of the roads, for example), neighbouring buildings get demolished and instead of building a new structure, it ends being a parking lot or somehting, leaving wide open the bath window.

The only way to really avoid that kind of pervert activity is either making impossible to see in to the window... by closing it, covering it with some sort of blinds (form the inside) or making the access difficult.

Wow.... Three people want a pervert, peeping Tom to keep his job with 6-11 year old kids. And we wonder why the world is like it is?

I would be checking his home PC and searching the school changing rooms and toilets for cameras.
