Man arrested for assaulting 84-year-old father by yanking out his tooth

Police in Sano, Tochigi Prefecture, have arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting his 84-year-old father by yanking out one of his teeth.

According to police, Hideaki Murakashi, a dispatch worker, from Honjo, Saitama Prefecture, also tore his father’s shirt and broke his cell phone at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sankei Shimbun reported.

Police said Murakashi has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he was angry because his father did not keep his promise to clean the bathroom.

Earlier in the year, police said they had been consulted by Murakashi’s parents who told them he often demanded money from them and would assault them if they didn’t give him any. Murakashi was given a verbal warning by police.

"Is it just me, or is it getting crazier out there?"

Is Hideaki Murakashi living with his parents or are his parents living in his house? I am not giving HM an excuse for beating up his dad for not scrubbing the bathroom. I'm just curious about the son ordering his dad to do chores and expecting his parents to give him money. Is he doing so because he is "taking care" of them (providing them with a roof over their heads) or because he is an only child (is he?) or the only son (ditto)?

keeping the bathroom clean could mean shooting straight. Someone move out of the house before it gets even worse

He could also be charged with practicing dentistry without a license.

There are more catalytic converters to steal for platinum than there are father's teeth for gold fillings.

Pretty good JP law enforcement system in this regard , call, the cops and they don't kill anyone perpetrating the domestic violence.

Should the police pull out 1 finger or toe nail? hmmm seems equal justice to fit the crime vs a verbal warning.

An ex-partner's family in Japan is in the same situation. Her brother is the youngest child and the only boy of three children. Her parents basically had to bribe her brother to leave by giving him his inheritance now. He bought a mansion in a nice cheap area with lots of nature, but doesn't work. The parents tried to reduce as much contact with him because of the anger issues. He has been trying to move back home since he bought the place.

I told her he just wants to be cared for and treated like a baby. Even with the money and his own place to live, nobody is there to wash his underwear and cook him meals! That is what happens when you raise spoiled children to become spoiled adults. He wants a wife/mother/servant/banker.

Dealing with dimentia is not easy

So, will this be added to the domestic violence statistics?

These kinds of incidents will continue to increase as the population ages until the J-gov and health ministry get serious about giving these people the support they need. Dementia sufferers should be hospitals and cared for by professionals. They should not be left at home for family members to care for.
