This is terrible. So many lives wiped out at once. It is an unimaginable tragedy, whatever the situation.

Terrible.

Jesus. RIP.

A whole family wiped out in another mass-murder. Family murders seem far too common in Japan.

A dead man found later in the day under a city bridge around 3 kilometers from the house may be his son, the police said.

So his son, his wife, grand daughter, acquaintance and possibly body of Yasuo's were mentioned on the article and I'm guessing the two other bodies are the parents of his grand daughter.

I just feel sick reading this. RIP

Absolutely terrible.

With so few information, we can only speculate. I hope the police finds out what happened.

Horrible.

it is very early to speculate

You should have stopped right there.

What can be said that has not already been said? To understand this mass murder is to understand what was going on in that family and in that house. To understand what going on in the murders mind. There is just not enough information and I do not want to dare speculate or even begin to understand why this happened. What a waste of life. A child at only seven years of life. Shameful. Poor souls. The JPD have a grievous tasking investigation to run in Miyazaki.

Nuts with guns isn't the problem in Japan, it's those closest to you that will kill you

Unfortunately that's true anywhere in the world.

I had the same thought - likely murder suicide.

From what i read in the Japanese articles, it appears that the man found under the bridge was the culprit, and it is looking like a murder-suicide incident. In the house they found his father (72), mother (66), wife (41), son (21) and daughter (7)... And one of his coworkers Fumiaki Matsuoka (44).

While it is very early to speculate, my suspicions are on an affair between his wife and this Matsuoka guy. Or Matsuoka was just an innocent bystander in a meltdown of tragic proportions. Still not sure how he could manage to kill all those there without being overpowered or anyone escaping. So so sad...

i used to live near there. not much happens, so this will be the subject of gossip for years. i just hope there aren't any surviving relatives don't live nearby.

@dee - i used to live near there. not much happens, so this will be the subject of gossip for years.

I seriously doubt it will be. It will be swept under the carpet and forgotten like every other family mass-murder in Japan. There has a been a family murder in the news nearly every day for the last six months, many of which were mass-murders. Violent crime is low in Japan, until you go home.

this is exactly the problem... murderers in japan think it's better if they get rid of their family members to avoid them suffering from his (sometimes hers..but still mainly his...) actions. So many people killed to "protect" them...

There is now a worldwide epidemic of Humans who reach a certain age, a certain level of awareness, and see a world in which they would rather be dead than continue to inhabit. The body under the bridge is likely to be one of these, as are the 'shooters' in America where the real motivation, suicide, is disparaged and attention only upon the means. Here, we seem to have a mass murder with almost certainly the same motivation as we have seen in school attacks in America and an increasing number of such incidents throughout the world. As media makes general awareness of the insanity of the Human World more clear to more and more people, this epidemic will only increase. Nor is it just 'crazy' people. In America the single demographic with the greatest risk of suicide is our physicians who, apparently, have no other prescriptions for tolerance to the Human Corporate psychopathy making life less and less attractive to all of us, except the mindless greed driven parasites who dominate our lives.

Stressed out man child pops a fuse and takes it out on his entire family then does himself in under the bridge. RIP victims, may the perp burn for eternity.
