Police said Tuesday that around 600 people were evacuated from an office building in Tsukiji in Tokyo's Chuo Ward, after a man called the building management company at 9 a.m. and said a bomb would explode there at noon.
Police and the bomb squad were mobilized to the Kowa Building at Tsukiji 1-chome and evacuated some 600 office tenants and restaurant staff from the building by 11:30. Nothing happened at noon and no suspicious objects were found in the building, which has 16 floors, including three basement levels, Fuji TV reported.
Workers were allowed to go back into the building at 1:30 p.m.

if the sicko here and some of the other news articles just this week are any indication, this is going to be a long summer of wackos.

2 and a half hours to evacuate 600 people? Umm... imagine if this was a fire, the entire building would be burnt to the ground before everyone could get out.
What was the delay??

Some do this when they get canned. Not the 1st time and not the last.

I wonder if it might have been one of the office workers wanting to be let out to enjoy the beautiful weather?
