This is actually not the best thing to teach kids for several reasons that would take too long to explain here. I am glad that she escaped unharmed. People need to teach their kids the golden rule: SAY NO TO STRANGERS

Never mind about the "he said/she said" aspect, this is the most troubling. Why would a kid take money from a guy that is not a relative of hers? Just the fact that he was "grooming" her to be more receptive to him by giving her stuff seems troubling. I bet if you peel the onion on this, you will find this guy has been doing this for a long time.

I do hope that the girl will be fine and that she learned a very valuable lesson about taking money from strangers. Long time ago I met a woman who I thought was "way out there" mentally. Come to find out, she had a similar experience like this to happen to her in her childhood. Some guy did exactly similar stuff to her, and kept her for awhile and when he let her go told her that if she told it would only embarras her and her family, and they didn't report it. So the pervert got off, and the end result this lady developed some serious mental issues. At least this girl's mother made the right decision to contact authorities, and I hope that follow up mental treatment is included. I hate to see her life screwed up because of this.
