What kind of country is it where you can't punch your no-good son-in-law in the face (I TOLD her not to marry that 'maroon')? Family relations, the true test of one's Humanity and forbearance... Japan is lucky not to have the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner requirements Americans must suffer through...

What a wuss, he called the police because a man, probably around 30 years older than him, gave him a split lip. I wonder whose side the daughter is on?

I'm glad my ex's dad never came after me, he's a multi-level black belt, in Okinawa

What a whimp. He needs to man up. No information about the reason, but if a drunk father in law starts drunkenly shouting at you, just go for a walk. A split lip, nothing, broken jaw well….

they found the suspect drunk.

Of course. He was drunk.

Dunno why everyone is attacking the victim of the story. We don't know the history of these two, if the father-in-law is constantly an abusive alcoholic or not. Whatever the case, in this instance, the son-in-law was fully within his rights to report the father-in-law. If he can so easily punch another man in the face, whose to say he isn't going around punching other members of the family who might be more vulnerable? I say good on the son-in-law!

P.S. A punch to the face is no joke. Man was lucky it was only a gash to his upper lip!
