Terrible and unnecessary.

I remember going out night in Japan was really safe, however, from reading this story and others it appears these days are disappearing and fast. Truly sad.

The State Department has Japan at a level-one status, the status reserved for the safest countries on earth. The city rankings from Numbeo have Japan as the eight safest country, Tokyo as the world's 25th-safest city out of 334 and Osaka as its 89th-safest city.Feb 6, 2024

He probably needed money to pay his electricity and gas bills. In the winter months it is ridiculously expensive.

Yeah... unnecessary. One time in Malaysia, a guy on a scooter tried to rob me by just taking the bag off of me, and I almost nearly lost it, luckily.
