Police in Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture, are investigating the murder of a 68-year-old woman whose body was found on Dec 26.
According to police, the woman, identified as Tamie Nishida, died from at least 10 stab wounds to her stomach and chest.
Nishida was last heard from on Dec 19 when she spoke with her eldest daughter on the phone, Sankei Shimbun reported Saturday. Newspapers since Dec 22 were still in her mailbox, police said.
Nishida's 42-year-old daughter found the body after not being able to contact her mother.
