69-year-old woman arrested after leaving sister’s body in apartment

Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 69-year-old woman on suspicion of abandoning the body of her older sister at their apartment in Yokohama.

Police said Mariko Hatano told them she kept the body of her 78-year-old sister, Hiromi, inside a room at their apartment after she died on April 15, Sankei Shimbun reported. Hatano was arrested on April 18 after being detained on suspicion of shoplifting at a supermarket in Naka Ward.

During questioning at the police station, Hatano told them she lived with her dead sister. When police checked the apartment, they found the corpse.

Hatano was quoted by police as saying she had been living with her sister for about 10 years and was reluctant to “leave her alone” after her death.

Love to see the look on the cops face when she said she lived with her dead sister.

AGAIN!!

Is this a Syndrome, or a new Pandemic?

What makes these people do this to their loved ones??? there has to be a breakdown somewhere in a the society for people to act in this manner.

Watching over’ her elder, dead sister’s body for 3 days, that she may have cared for and lived with 10 years, is ‘no great crime’ as most of the “continued pension parasites” we’ve read about lately. With this case, there are too many questions, like her current mental state, for us to speculate on here in this sensationalized story.

There will be more of this to come. As the Japanese population gets older so does the cost of burials. Most people don't really understand what the cost is and what it takes to bury a love one. Lets say perhaps she was told and just the thought of a loss and hearing the cost probably drove Hatano to do what she did as she had no money and was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at a supermarket. The elderly believe it or not are the ones you see going into supermarkets stealing its not the yous kids. I go to a market near my home occasionally and I see the same old lady every time I go and she slyly lifts food. She notices me and I just look the other way, its sad and it will only get worse.

The choice in future will be between two options. Building prisons for ninety percent of the population, desperately doing the same crimes, like shoplifting or leaving dead corpses at home and such, or give the citizens a minimum of money so they don’t have to admit such ‘crimes’, that they are financially forced into.

Another day, another copycat crime.

It’s ‘Desperation’ @Mark 8:38am, not a ‘syndrome’ nor a ‘pandemic’. We will continue to see more cases like this in an poor, aging society ruled by the other, wealthy 1%.
