7 dead cats found on train line in Yokohama

Police have launched an investigation after seven dead cats were found on train tracks in Yokohama between Jan 1 and Jan 21.

Station staff say that the bodies were found on the Yokohama Line near Kikuna Station. Police believe there is a high probability that the cats were immobilized before being left on the track, NTV reported.

According to station staff, the animals were left on the track in the early hours of the morning.

This is the high crime and treason that is worthy of reporting in Japan. Much more vital to get the story out than about incompetent Ferrari drivers. Yokohama is such a crime-ridden city.

It starts with cats then progresses to little kids. Another sicko experimenting.

Dead before put on the tracks?

Tied to the tracks?

Drugged?

Poor cats...I hope they catch the sadistic mofo!

The headline makes it sound all seven cats were found together, but the article says they were found over a period of three weeks.

I wonder, in a case like this, are the bodies checked for microchips? Are there seven worried owners somewhere wondering when kitty is going to come home, or did the pathetic little t&rd who thought this was a clever thing to do use his 'own' cats? People 'adopting' cats from sato-oya sagashi and then using them for depraved purposes is a problem in its own right. (Never adopt cats/dogs/kittens/puppies out to people who cannot provide adequate evidence of their competence. Amd keep your own cats indoors; it keeps them safe and prevents neighbour trouble.)

Nit-pick - dead cats were found dead? In what other state could they be found?

They need to catch this freak quickly. Its bad enough he's killing cats but we don't know if he will target young kids next...

There is a possibility that there is a nutjob somewhere in the city. In the city of Tsujido they recently found pigeons that had been beheaded. They were found littered across the main road.

When they find the perpetrator, he/she should be sentenced to years of cat attacks.

The NHK news a few days ago said that several of the cats were definitely dead, not just immobilised, before being left on the track- they had probably been killed by a blow to the head.

Evil.

That is sick. Violence toward animals is the mark of a sociopath - yeah, it really could be kids, s/he's harming, too. As a cat lover, I am especially personally disgusted and horrified. Hope the cats didn't suffer...

Give me a break. "It starts with cats then progresses to little kids"? "a nutjob somewhere in the city"? Get real. People who breed the things and don't take responsibility for the trouble the animals create are the 'nutjobs' who deserve a good whacking.

he/she should be sentenced to years of cat attacks.

That makes 9 life terms for each of the killed cats.

He must be a humanoid.

It's actually very well documented that psychopaths often start with killing animals and progress to people.

Sounds like a Stephen King story.

Catch this guy and simply to the same thing he did to the cats. DONE!

And what trouble do these cats create that is so bad for you? Do cats go around robbing and raping people? Molesting women on trains ? Driving like nutjobs down the road almost running people over ? Attacking human beings in pack gangs? Throwing trash everywhere? Writing Graffiti on you wall? Cat bosozoku gangs riding in your street at 3am? Tell me. How bad are the cats ?

We humans are greedy and have taken over many parts of this world that belongs to nature and wildlife.

Pretty clear what this guy did to those cats is all cool with you yeah?

"who deserve a good whacking" - I feed cats in my local park each night. Well behaved cats with high IQ, maybe more IQ than some humans. All welcome. Just make sure one does not get counter whacked!

Cat bosozoku gangs riding in your street at 3am?

Namennayo. Anybody remember this fad? LOL! Brought back memories.

trevorpeace, zoosadism has been linked with sociopaths. Ever heard of Dennis Rader? Or try looking up Rostislav Bogoslevsky

9 x 7 = 63 years of cat attacks. Sounds right to me.

It`s catastrophic!

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

why can't these sickos just leave the cats alone? or anybody for that matter. as it is people already have many things on their plate to think of, and killing those cats or any animal just to prove what, exactly

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Oh wow... I love cats so much and this story makes me so angry, and yet Rogerrabitt's comment still made me laugh... I'm terrible...

0 ( +1 / -1 )

sicko. catch that person soon before we see random attacks on humans.

I actually agree that most of the unwanted stray problem arises from irresponsible owners who breed and abandon. But I also think people who take it out on the animals who didn't choose to have to survive on the streets, are sickos themselves, because they're venting out on whatever just happens to be there.

TrevorPeace1Mar. 12, 2012 - 10:41AM JST We call them 'feral' cats in my neighbourhood, and shoot them at will. They breed like rats, kill hundreds of birds for sport and do their unwanted business in my vegetable garden.

I came across another of your comments under a different article and it certainly sounds to me like someone in the same league. Where I come from, they put those sadists away.

South Sakai, bless you for taking care of the strays! Is it frowned upon here to feed cats at temples/parks? I have to buy a big bag of kitty kibble anyway, and taking a little to the strays would be no problem, I just dont want to get in trouble for feeding them? Do you leave a dish out or put the food directly onto the ground?

Sadists who hurt animals are why I cannot take my dogs for a walk when I go to the supermarket, and leave them outside a very short while. Im terrified some sociopath would torture them because they are "stressed", it is also why my cat will never ever be allowed outside the house without us. Ild rather tolerate wierd looks with my kitty on a leash than anyone harm him.

Whoever hurt those poor kitties is seriously mentally disturbed and I hope they catch them before they progress to humans or hurt more defenceless animals.

There is documented proof that lack of empathy, killing of animals leads to more violent behavior. Anyone who cares to argue this point should first do research by googling "lack of empathy, killing of animals".

The fact that the cats were immobilized seem to indicate that someone captured them and then arranged for them to be killed while "immobilized". In other words, alive and trapped as the train came bearing down on them. To me, and this is only my opinion, this is a sign of someone very mentally sick and who could become a danger to other people.

The issue of stray cats is, in my opinion, not related to this issue and anyone bringing it up is merely deflecting attention to the main point; someone is deliberately capturing animals, trespassing on train tracks/property, immobilizing these animals and possibly watching them die. I think we can all agree this is someone who needs to be stopped.

sounds like a cat serial killer is on the lose.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The freak deserves the cat o' nine tails..

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Some of us think more of cats than people.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

this is CATASTROPHE

0 ( +1 / -1 )

It could be a single culprit, sick in the head and on his way to becoming a serial killer. And it could also be a group of kids who think this is a fun game to alleviate their boredom. I didn't notice any comments raising this as a possibility, so I'm putting it out there.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Yes, of course cats are better people than people in most cases. Ever heard of a cat killing innocent humans and putting them on the train tracks? Mark Twain once said that crossing cats with humans would improve humans and degrade cats. And such sickos prove it true time and again. I can barely think of the killer as a human. This "creature" is clearly beyond any redemption. It must be locked away from society forever.

Or it could serve a higher purpose being fed to starving stray cats, which would be the proper fairy tale style ending of this story.
