Police in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, have arrested a 70-year-old man on suspicion of violating the anti-stalking law after he called a 44-year-old woman 61 times on her cell phone.

According to police, Masami Iwasaki made the calls to the woman, who works in a bar, between dawn on Oct 30 and the afternoon of Nov 2, Sankei Shimbun reported.

Police said that four years ago, Iwasaki first met the woman at the same bar and started stalking her then. At that time, he was given a written warning by police and he left the woman alone.

In the latest case, police quoted Iwasaki as saying he missed the woman.

tough call.

I've been stalked before so i know her feelings. stalking can be traumatic.

Though it probably wouldn't have stopped him completely but I think she should have changed her phone number like 4 years ago after what went on.

Da - why should she change her number?  61 times in 3 days?  Seems reasonable to me.
