Just like that, hey? "Thanks dad!" - So, how many in-family murders is that in the last fortnight? Four or five?

a 71 year old beats a 32 year old to death? just by punching and kicking? something is strange here

Thats some 71 year old! But i've seen some really healthy 71 year olds so who knows!

Given the effeminate state of the average Japanese male these days, it's not surprising that the old man was the stronger "on Sunday night and early Monday morning". But seriously somebody needs to take away the old boy's testosterone replacement supplements.

I wonder if this is a case of a 32 year old still living at home with his father, or a 71 year old living with his son's family. Not really relevant... I'm just curious.

Father's Day is coming. Looks like Dad won't be getting anything this year...

Wow, I mean of course I don´t condone this, but I have to say a 72 year old who is able to beat a 32-year old to death is impressive. What is he, retired body-builder? And the son a total couch potato? Even then it is against the odds.

Impact to the head and resulting to injury of the brain can be very damaging and may sometimes result in death... it is entirely possible that the man fell and hit his head after the initial blow. RIP.

This sounds odd. I'm 32 and if a 71 year old guy tried to beat me to death, I'd tear him a new a-hole. And I'm a wimp. Was the old dude a black belt in Kyokushin or something?

Let this be a lesson to all you posters that say you would like to spend 5 minutes in a room with ___fill in the blank.

You never who you will come up against and what they are capable of.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Internal bleeding perhaps, or the 32 year old was asleep.

Agree with Okinawmike.

You don't need to be build like mike tyson or have a Black Belt to put the smackdown on someone.

I see many pensioners in my area work hard physically daily and they are way fitter than your average 30+ Salaryman and they will show them a thing or two.

Okinawamike:

" Let this be a lesson to all you posters that say you would like to spend 5 minutes in a room with __ "

Those outbursts usually come after another disgusting story of some punk beating up a little child. And I doubt that someone who is really physically strong and confident would do that.

You don´t see the reaction in this case, obviously.

ehhh strange?????

I bet the dad's rage only grew when he noticed that his son wasn't strong enough to fight back. I'm not condoning violence, but come on! If you can't out fight a 71 year old man, you should be at least able to out run him.

bad azz ojisan!

"Given the effeminate state of the average Japanese male these days, it's not surprising that the old man was the stronger" Yeah! I agree. Not to mention the old man could be a farmer. Still in good shape. The "boy" a 50kg skelton that struggles to lift his breifcase and is out of breath from smoking 10 packs a day. but then agian who knows!

When I'm 71, I hope to have the strength to beat my 32-year old son to death. Not saying that I will do it, it's just nice to be able to.

Maybe the guy was asleep or drunk and pops grabbed a frying pan...

Well i don,t know the full side of the story but The old man probably just got fed up with his lazy, whiny son and thought " enough is enough" and just lost it...

This article is about the murder of an individual; and while it may appear strange it does not negate from the fact that a person was killed by an individual.

Maybe the son was a nice person and he did not want to hit his father?

Or maybe his father just hit him from out of the blue because he had a violent temper.

Whatever; nobody knows!

However, a young man was killed and this is more important.

Clive.

100% agree, a person died and we don't know if he was a worthy person or not ditto for his dad.

But to assume that an older person can't kill a younger one is .... wishfull thinking at best.

anyone can kill anyone, but im sure you can google search bone and muscle density of 71 one year olds compared to 32 year olds as well as osteoporosis probability as well as arthritis statistics and I am sure you will find in your "research" that the average 32 year old is in better physical shape and condition than a 71 year old. Oh, or you could open your eyes, leave your computer and step outside and use some common rules of visual deduction. Its not a usual circumstance where a 71 year old man would overpower a 32 year old, statistically or speaking, or realistically. Stop projecting your own wishful thinking that you could overpower anyone.

Nice! Old geezer kills his own son? I hope this bastard hangs!

Yes, it IS possible for a 71 year old to beat to death a 32 year old. My grandfather in Greece is over 90 year old (he is still working in a forge though) and a couple of years ago, a thief tried to steal his wallet while getting out of his home. My grandpa just held him from his neck and pushed him violently to the wall of the building causing him to seriously hit his head. He didn't die of course, but he had to go to hospital before he was arrested. This incident took less than 3-4 seconds and didn't involve any punches, kicks, etc. Sometime, just falling down in a sharp object might be lethal. And yes, there are many old men who are in a better physical condition than people in their 30s.

Sad.

May be young man decency killed him.

Antonios' comment wins!

It is clearly possible for an older guy to overpower a younger. Antonios' comment is supported and backed-up by this article, in which there was a death.

While unusual some older ppl are stronger than younger. But more important than that is the factor of timing and amount of force of the first blow. If someone goes down, or is dazed, any further blows will be icing on the cake. As it were.

Furthermore, it was the guys' Dad. Whether it was tough love, or physical abuse that had gone on for decades, we are conditioned not to fight back against authority figures, and to believe we would lose if we did so.

Tragic. A father killing his own flesh and blood. After an argument, no matter how bad things look, the father should have showed some restrain. The issue is not about a 71- year old man vs a 32- year old man. Someone is dead and that's the tragedy of the story.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

well, I can sympathize with the 71-yr-old man. Being 71 y-o and having a 32 y-o son at home is no picnic. Times are tough, but what kind of loser lives with his parent(s) at age 32? When he says that his son wasn't listening, it most likely means that the son NEVER listened and ignored all the father's advice, etc. If you don't know the frustration of having a deadbeat, worthless leech sponging off of you, and then continuously ignoring and disregarding you, well, the rage that builds over time can overwhelm anyone. Maybe the father should be cited for littering, that's all

0 ( +0 / -0 )

while it's tragic that an individual was killed, this is yet one more good reason NOT to live with your parents past your 20's.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

My Ghost!!! Maybe he beats his son too much or his son was badly hit in some parts of the body......like in the balls...... That leads his sons untimely death. Tragic.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

marialenit: In the balls? Won't kill you. Will hurt like there is no tomorrow, but won't kill you. It would have to be the mother-of-all ball kicks. Enough to damage internal organs. The sort of ball kick you'd expect from a highly trained Shaolin master.
