Man arrested for killing daughter after she reportedly kills her mother

Police in Hiroshima have arrested a 71-year-old man on suspicion of killing his 35-year-old daughter after she allegedly killed her 70-year-old mother on Tuesday night.

Police said that at around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, they received a call from a man who said his family was dead at their home in a municipal housing complex in Higashi Ward, Fuji TV reported.

When police arrived at the house, they found a man, Masao Kamiyanagi, in an agitated state, repeating that he had killed his daughter.

Kamiyanagi’s wife Miharu, and their daughter Suzuko, were found in separate rooms. Police said they both had been strangled to death with a thin cord.

Kamiyanagi was quoted by police as saying his daughter had killed his wife and then asked him to kill her, which he did at around 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

Only true in some cases. Consider, for example, a case I coordinated on, which happened on a military installation years ago. A woman stabbed her love rival to death inside her car. The killers bloody footprints led from the victim's car to where the killer was sitting on a wall outside of a club babbling incoherantly, with the bloody knife laying next to her. It was pretty safe to assume who the killer was.

Conversely, statistics can be very useful investigative tool highlighting irregularities and often pointing investigators in the right direction

I think that after time an investigation will reveal what really happened here.

Group suicides do happen, but by cord strangulation is seriously weird!

And I can't imagine a father being convinced to kill his daughter moments after she murders his wife.

Unless both women wanted to suicide and he acted as the assistant. If that's the case, they should have left a letter or something. I know a family , the son failed suicide several times, he had been depressive for years and as all therapies failed, so he asked his father to help him die. He did. Then, yes, the father killed himself.

She said he said and the voice in his head said

No way. I don’t believe this guy for a second.

What an awful ending to this family. Whoever is at fault, I feel sorry for all of them.

Good insights. They both were killed by the same method. And I can't imagine a father being convinced to kill his daughter moments after she murders his wife. And even if the story were true, I would expect the father to have committed suicide afterwards. Who would want to live after that?

Statistically a woman would be more likely to stab another woman. It would also be easier to kill someone by stabbing than by strangling. It's my guess that he killed both and just said that to get a lighter sentence, or maybe he just doesn't know because his mind is gone

3 people knew who killed who and 2 of them are dead. Let the evidence come forward before taking his word for it.

Wow, what a dysfunctional family. How sad the father had to make a choice like that.
