A 62-year-old woman was arrested for murder early Thursday morning, accused of bashing her 72-year-old sister-in-law with a hammer and stabbing her more than 10 times in her Higashi Osaka City apartment on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said a care worker visited Setsuko Shigeto’s apartment at about 2.30 p.m. Wednesday and found her on the floor, bleeding from her head and abdomen. The care worker called for an ambulance but Shigeto was pronounced dead shortly after. Police said the victim had been struck in the back of her head with a hammer, and stabbed more than 10 times in the abdomen. Both the hammer and the knife were found in a rubbish bin about 100 meters from the apartment building.
A nearby resident told police she saw Shigeto’s sister-in-law near the apartment some time after noon. When police questioned Junko Shigeto, she admitted to killing her sister-in-law, telling police: “My husband borrowed money from her for his business, and we’ve had trouble paying her back over the last couple of years. She taunted me by saying she was going to have the business closed down. I just snapped and wanted to kill her.”

I wonder if they will hang her or will she get life behind the bars? She should be put into mental institution for good.
