Police in Fukuoka have arrested a 75-year-old resident of a nursing home after he strangled to death the 70-year-old occupant of the room beside his.
According to police, the suspect, Hideo Matsubaguchi, went into the room of Nobutake Ashimi at around 9 a.m. Sunday and strangled him. TV Asahi reported that Ashimi was rushed to the hospital where he died late Sunday night.

And, they never thought to separate them?

Because they could hear each other? Well switch off your hearing aids, then.

Given the fact that the two old men had been having disputes for some time, I think they were undoubtedly on unfriendly terms. I mean, the more two people hate each other, the more louder they hear the other party's noise than it really is. Chances were that the culprit hated the victim like poison. Nevertheless, the 75-year-old man has absolutely crossed the line by strangling to death the 70-year-old occupant. What stamina he has! I think he wouldn't have to be placed in a nursing home from the beginning.

Is neighbor the correct term? I thought I was going to read about a guy that hated his next door neighbor for noise or some other silly thing.
