I'd say she should've left but, she probably had nowhere else to go. Counseling could have been another option but, maybe she suggested that too. Whatever the situation was, I just don't see murdering someone, a husband and father...as the solution. Now the rest of her years will be spent behind bars...how sad.

Why do these stories bother writing what " Ku " things happened if not EXACTLY where it happened ? I used to live in Kameari, Chioda-Sen, I wonder if that's where this actually happened...seeing as the story doesn't bother saying.

Can we please have social programs to help these people?

Or maybe the more old people are, the more cases there will be due to a larger population. Or maybe the news just likes to report on these stories more than they used to. Or maybe any of a number of other reasons.

Just one more elder-on-elder violence case. It seems that the media is feeding this beast.
Think about it. The more news these cases garner, the more they tend to occur. It's as if the population becomes desensitized over time, and so someone says to themselves, "If they can do it, why shouldn't I?

Then, she should have gotten a divorce and left.

I obviously read it too quickly... I read "the woman called 119"...

Did they re-write the article since you made that post? It seems pretty clear right now that it was the daughter who called the police. But seeing as JT never mentions when they edit a post, there is no way of knowing.
Moderator: The story has not been rewritten.

Not very well written... I had to read it twice in order to find out that it was really his daughter - and not his wife - who called the police... (After all, it's very often the perpetrator him/herself who call the police...)
Moderator: The story clearly states twice that it was the daughter who called the police.

But the wife will get away with a slap on the wrist, because no judge will want to be the one to put an old woman in jail
