Police in Higashiyamato, Tokyo, have arrested a 76-year-old woman on suspicion of killing her 45-year-old eldest son by strangling him with a belt.
According to police, Kimiko Inoue strangled her son at around 6:25 p.m. on Monday, Fuji TV reported. She then called 110 and told police she had killed her son. Police said she has admitted to the charge and quoted her as saying “My son asked me to kill him, so I strangled him.”
Inoue lived with son and her eldest daughter who is in her 50s. The daughter was not at home at the time of the incident.

Most caregivers of adults with physical, intellectual, or mental health problems, are their own family members.
It's all well and good to say, Why didn't she ask for help, as though you think she hasn't already. Whatever help is given, may well have been temporary, limited, costly, and ineffective.
I see it a lot - ageing parents caring for ageing children. The fear of what will happen to that child when the parent becomes infirm or dies, must be overwhelming.

Well well well. If it isn't the stupidest reason to kill your son. I understand some people can be going through a lot and can't deal with the strains of life anymore, but she could've consulted the proper people who deal with this situation. If her son said "Eat a pile of......, mom!" because he didn't like something she said, would she feast on it because he told her to do it? Think people!

Family murders are not uncommon. In fact quite the opposite. The most likely person to murder you is your husband, father, mother, son, other family member, daughter, business partner.... in that order.

How does this happen? He must be able to over power her ... even if he wanted to die, at some point you have some reflex action to not die. Something is very fishy ....

This is just awful.
No doubt he felt he just couldn't face life anymore. I sympathize with him. But why did he get his mother to do it? Now she will have to live with the guilt and legal consequences.

Her testimony sounds legit. A 75 year old woman can’t easily kill a 45 year old man with a belt unless he lets her.

all three top stories in the crime section involve family members killing each other. japan has a massive problem, and it wont go away, as the coronavirus soon will
