Police in Mibu, Tochigi Prefecture, said Saturday they have arrested a 78-year-old man on suspicion of killing his 74-year-old brother with whom he lived.
According to police, Shigenobu Ohashi stabbed his brother Takeshi in the neck at around 7:30 p.m. Friday, Fuji TV reported. About 10 minutes later, Ohashi called 119 and said he had killed his brother.
Police and an ambulance rushed to the house and found Takeshi still alive. He was taken to hospital but died due to loss of blood about 90 minutes later. Police initially charged his brother with attempted murder but changed it to murder late Friday.
Police said Ohashi has admitted to the charge but so far has given no motive for killing his brother.
